I have to say there are some photo shoots that bring me to tears, and this was one of them! One could say that I am very proud to be an American. I know this sounds cliche’ but it is TRUE! I get choked up and get goose bumps every time I hear the star spangled banner play and see our flag whipping in the wind. And each time I see a man or woman in a military uniform I do my best to thank them for serving our country. I know this may sound odd to you, but this was the way I was brought up to give respect, honor and thanks where it is due and I believe they have earned it. Having family that has served in the military also gives me a greater appreciation for what they do. Thank you Uncle Ken, a retired Colonel in the U.S. Army, and to my uncle Jack who fought in WWII. I am overwhelmed by the sacrifice of our men and women all around the world who give their lives to serve our nation. Many men and women have made the ultimate sacrifice of love and selflessness and given their life so that we can live a free nation under God with life, liberty, and justice for ALL!!! This is not to be taken lightly, and on this memorial day I want to remember what a privilege and blessing it is to live in this great nation. To each and every family that is without a loved one today thank you and you ARE remembered.
With that said I introduce you to the Plummer family. Mom-Bethany, Dad- Trevor and 2 month old Abby. We were so excited and honored when Bethany and Trevor contacted us about doing a family shoot for them. Trevor was to be deployed again for 9 months shortly after our shoot on May 14th. It was very important to Bethany and Trevor to get photos of Abby with her daddy before he left. Bethany and Trevor’s parents came along on the shoot and there were many tears shed as they watched the family interact knowing that soon it would be just a memory. I have to say that now being a parent you understand the pain of separation and the yearning for family so much more. As I watched Trevor and Abby interact my heart was stirred; I knew that he was going to leave the comfort of his home and the embrace of his baby girl and wife for me and you! How can we really say thank you for that? Bethany, Trevor and Abby, Plummer family as well and Holden Family we are so grateful! Thank you for the sacrifices you make on my behalf. With all of my love and prayers, Jolie.
