Evie’s One-Year Birthday Bash

We loved Eva’s first birthday! We loved all the people that came. We loved the cake. We loved the weather. We loved everything!  For these and many other reasons we wanted to share some snaps from her big bash…..And we worked like dogs for a ridiculously long time getting ready for it so we wanted to get as much mileage out of it as we could.

So the theme of her ‘lil bash was Up; you know, the Pixar movie. Yep, the incredibly sad one. Honestly, Jolie and I cry every time we watch the silly thing. Unfortunately, it’s one of Eva’s favorite movies (I think she likes the balloons) so we often find ourselves watching it in the middle of the afternoon, softly brushing away tears.  But looking at the pictures you won’t notice a huge Up theme going on. No house with balloons attached although we did have some old people there (grandparents). We mostly went with the whole hot air balloon direction, and it turned out pretty cute. Jolie was the mastermind behind it all, and she did an awesome job.

Obviously Eva was mostly enthralled with all her friends that were there.  But we sure did like it all!

How to make a hot air balloon. Get one large balloon from Party City, cover it with a decorative fishing net, tie a ribbon to the four corners of the net, then tie it to an apple basket from Hobby Lobby.
