Ah, don’t ya just love rooftops high above beautiful South Beach? I mean there’s just something about being high up in the beautiful, blue sky and looking down at shockingly beautiful aqua waters! You get that urge for the slightest moment to jump off the rooftop cause you really just think you can clear the street, the park and the beach and make a perfect splash down into the waves. And then it quickly and wisely passes.
Well, soon after Eva was born I was called away to shoot a wedding atop the elegant Tides Hotel on Miami Beach. Jillian, of Jillian Tree Photography, our wonderful assistant, gladly agreed to assist me while Jolie stayed home with our ‘lil munchkin of luv, aka Eva. It was just a short shoot, one hour, and it truly flew by, but it was a fun location and we enjoyed snapping away machine gun style.
The couple was Rory and Tammy who we only got to spend a very, very short amount of time with but definitely would have enjoyed spending some more time getting to know. The first thing we noticed about Tammy, other than she had the cutest smile for Rory, was her dress which was so unique and amazing. Now a lot of times when you hear unique it’s just code for different and not that great. But hers was unique in the perfect way. It truly fit a Miami Beach wedding outdoors and had such pretty detailing and it fit her island look to a ‘T.’ And here’s the topper…she made the dress!! I was beyond impressed. Of all the wedding dresses I’ve seen this was definitely top three and she made it! Pretty cool. Turns out she makes children’s clothing and you can check her out here. Daylicious.
So please enjoy their photos. And congrats you two!
Ok, so I have to admit that I sometimes have a slight fear of heights. Below is a faithful rendering of how I took the shot above. Nothing too scary here.
Well, this is what it felt like to me.
